The Helping Hands International provides funding for the Jehovah Jireh Academy in Port au Prince, Haiti. The Academy was founded in 2008 and provides an elementary school education to one hundred fifty boys and girls throughout the region. Through the financial support provided exclusively by The Helping Hands International, the Academy provides these children with three meals a day, uniforms and an education.
While the main focus of The Helping Hands International is to provide a solid education for these children, thus securing a more sound future for them, eventually its vision is to also build and maintain an orphanage.
One quarter of the school’s population was orphaned in the 2010 earthquake and The Helping Hands International supports the long term goal of providing these children with a permanent refuge and home.
